What is the forest stewardship council (fsc)?
Formed in Bonn, Germany, The Forest Stewardship Council’s mission is “to promote environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world’s forests.” As such, FSC prohibits conversion of natural forests or other habitat; prohibits the use of highly hazardous pesticides; prohibits the cultivation of genetically modified trees (GMOs); and respects the right of indigenous peoples around the world.
The FSC is considered the global leader in responsible stewardship of our world’s forests. The organization visits and inspects each certified operation at least once a year to ensure compliance. BentleyRowland customers who wish to use FSC certified products may use the FSC logo on their printed pieces. Ask your sales representative for more information, or visit http://www.fscus.org/. |
